Originally the name of well-known
Hindi poet and critic Vinay Vishwas is Vinay Kumar Jain. Vinay Vishwas is his pen-name.
Born on 18-03-1962 in Delhi, Late Mrs. Prem Vati Jain & Mr. Jagdish Chand
Jain’s son Vinay completed his formal education from Delhi. He was awarded M.Phil. & Ph.D. degrees by University of Delhi.
Although he enjoyed playing with
words for school days but started to take the world of words seriously since
1982. As a student of Hans Raj College during his B. A. (Honours in Hindi) &
Hindu College during M.A. (Hindi), he won many prizes in poetry competitions
organized by different colleges and organizations. He edited one collection of
poems & two of stories during his graduation and post-graduation. He also
edited a fortnightly Hindi newspaper named Chhatra Manch for some time in
college life. He is a qualifier of the first NET organized by UGC & availed
JRF for his research.
His poems, articles and
book-reviews have been published in national Hindi dailies like Navbharat
Times, Hindustan, Rashtriya Sahara and Jansatta. His writings are published by
magazines named India Today, Kadambini, Sarika, Samkaleen Bhartiya Sahitya,
Gagananchal, Kathan, Anbhay Sancha, VyangyaYatra etc. He is one of the eight
poets; whose collection of poetry named ‘Ashtakshar’ was edited by Dr. Dwarika
Prasad Charumitra in 1991.
His poems, penned during
1984-2004, were published as his first book named ‘Patharon Ka Kya Hai’ by
Rajkamal Prakashan Pvt. Ltd., Delhi. This book was awarded by
Sahityik Kriti Samman: 2004-05 of Hindi Academy, Delhi. One more collection of his poems written during 2005-2019 named Dhoop Tijori Mein Nahin Rahti published by Nayee Kitab Prakashan, New Delhi in 2019. He was awarded by Rituraj Samman-2014 of Parampara, New Delhi. Some of his poems translated into Punjabi & published in Punjabi monthly
‘Akas’. His poems were broadcasted by Akashvani & telecasted by Doordarshan
from time to time. He also participated in several Kavi Sammelans of national
repute like Ganntantra Diwas (Republic Day) Kavi Sammelan.
He is one of the rare poets,
whose writings are admired in the field of readable as well as listenable
poetry. He did the critical study of contemporary Hindi Poetry and penned a
book named Aaj Ki Kavita, published by Rajkamal Prakashan Pvt. Ltd., Delhi in
2009. His critical study of reknowned Hindi poet Gajanan Madhav Muktibodh has also been published by Bhartiya Jnanpith, Delhi in 2018, named Aindrikata Aur Muktibodh.
He is working as Associate
Professor of Hindi in College of Vocational Studies, University of Delhi. Two scholars have been awarded Ph.D. and two have submitted their thesis for Ph.D. from University of Delhi under his supervision.
Now he is active in the fields
of poetry and criticism.
